Wendy Erskine, 72, of Colonial Beach, passed away on November 17, 2024.

Wendy was a witty and spirited individual, possessing a loving and generous nature that fueled her lifelong passion to help her community.

A beloved member of the Colonial Beach community for 30 years, Wendy founded her non-profit, Wendy’s Feline Friends, 25 years ago in response to a need she saw for homeless and abandoned cats. Over her remarkable career, she dedicated herself to rescuing and facilitating adoptions for over 8,000 cats, forming countless connections and friendships along the way. She dedicated her life to this cause and forged lasting relationships with adopters, volunteers, and supporters, creating a network of shared purpose.

Wendy was always ready with a helping hand and a listening ear, extending her kindness to all who crossed her path. Whether it was assisting with adoptions, giving advice, or lending support in difficult times, she left a lasting mark on the hearts of those who knew her.

Wendy is preceded in death by her husband, Phil Oby.

She is survived by her daughter, Samantha Erskine; her loving volunteers and friends, as well as a cherished group of feline friends.

A service to celebrate Wendy’s life will be held at a later date.
