Jason Scott McGinniss, 45 of Colonial Beach, passed away Monday, December 6, 2021.  He was born Saturday, September 4, 1976.  Jason was a graduate of the Colonial Beach High School class of 95’ where he earned many awards including the All-Area Team selection from the Free Lance star leading his team in his favorite sport of baseball.  After graduation, Jason went on to serve his country in the United States Army.  Jason was a man of many trades who loved working with his hands.  He could accomplish any job he set his mind to do.  Jason’s greatest joy was spending time with his daughters, cheering for his Redskins, and fishing.

Jason Scott McGinniss, upon receiving Christ as his personal Savior, was baptized in the names of the Father, and of the Son, and the Holy Spirit on April 5, 2009 at the Westmoreland Independent Baptist Church,  Colonial Beach, Virginia.

Jason is survived by his wife, Sherika McGinniss; daughters, Jasmine, Jordan, Jadyn, Jocelyn, and Jaicee McGinniss; father, Jack McGinniss (Cathy); sister, Monica R. King (Daniel); nieces, Katlyn Powers, Madison King and Kylie King; aunts, Sandy Lay (Nick), Dianne Sartin (Bill), Lynn Mitchell (David), and Pam Graham; uncles, Wayne McGinniss (Ellen), and Ralph Steffey; and a host of cousins and many friends as Jason never met a stranger.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Vicky Sue Scott.

The family will receive friends from 10-11 am Monday, December 13, 2021 at Storke Funeral Home, 131 3rd Street, Colonial Beach, Va  22443 where a memorial service will be held at 11am.
