LTC Victor Delano Hunter, 86 years old, passed peacefully from this life on March 21, 2022.

Victor Hunter was born in Miami, Fla. He attended Booker T. Washington Jr.-Sr. High School in Overtown. Victor was a very friendly, quiet, but “energetic” student! He loved music and was a very proud member of the band where he played to trombone. Victor graduated from Booker T. Washington Jr.-Sr. High School in June of 1953. The Senior Class Motto was: “YESTERDAY IS PAST, TOMORROW IS AHEAD, ONLY TODAY IS OURS.”

Victor lived his life by that motto.  After High School, he graduated college and then joined the US Army where he served over 20+ years as a Signal Core officer in the US Army. He served in the Vietnam War and received multiple Overseas Service Bars and commendations. Following his Army career, Victor worked for Unisys receiving multiple awards and recognitions.

Victor loved his wife, pets, politics, and music.  He would happily engage in a political conversation as he listened to some of his favorite tunes.  All those who knew him, loved him.  He was kind, thoughtful and caring.

Over 40 years ago, Victor took a vow to love and cherish Muriel from that day forward.  Victor was a devoted husband and father to their pets Scoogen, Coco and Samantha.  Victor and Muriel also fostered pets.

He was preceded in death by his wife Muriel, his mother, father and brother.  Left to mourn Victor’s passing are his Family in Palm Beach County, FL. Cathaleen Stubbs and Family of Delray Beach, Fl., and Elizabeth Munnings and Family of West Beach,FL, as well as other relatives and friends.

Victor was a friend and mentor to many.  His memories will forever live in the hearts of family and friends.  Victor will be sadly missed.
