John L Catlett, Sr; 79, passed away on June 18, 2022, at Mary Washington Hospital. He was born on April 26, 1943, in Alexandria, the son of Clarence and Irene (Beavers) Catlett.

John went to Suitland High School and then began working at Safeway for 45 years. Following retirement he began working at Napa Auto Parts and was a bus driver for a brief time for King George County Schools. Even after he stopped driving the bus, he still continued to work for Napa and loved seeing everyone in the community. When he was not at work he enjoyed fishing, gardening, traveling, listening to classic country and 50’s music, watching western movies, completing yardwork and working in his garage.

Not only was John a hardworking man, he also loved his family and friends unconditionally. He leaves behind his loving wife of 58 years, Stella Catlett. Surviving in addition to his wife, Stella Catlett, are his son, John Catlett, Jr.; and his wife, Misty and daughter, Loretta Catlett, brothers Charles Catlett (Georgene), Thomas Catlett (Juanita), and Daniel Catlett (Shirley) and grandchildren: Amanda Catlett (Domenic, Jr.), Allen Catlett (Megan), Anthony Catlett, Loren Guyett (Ryan), Rachel Heislup (Stewart) and Johnny Catlett, III; and great-grandchildren: Graysen, Allen, Jr.; Stewart, III; Domenic, III; Lexi, Brayden, Raelynn and Harli, and numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 25 at Tabernacle Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. with Pastor Sherman Davis officiating. Burial to follow at Historyland Memorial Park. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.storke funeralhome.com.
