Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintGlen W. Wildey, Jr., 68, of Ruther Glen, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at Johnston-Willis Hospital. Born in Peoria, IL, he was the son of Jackie Wildey and the late Glen Wildey.
Glen was a graduate of Columbia City Joint High School. Shortly after graduating, he joined the United States Marine Corps and retired after 20 years of service as a Gunnery Sergeant. He held the position of criminal investigator/NCIS special agent.
After retiring from the USMC, Glen was employed as a crime analyst with the City of Fort Lauderdale Police Department. He was employed there for seven years.
One of Glen’s lifetime goals was to work with the FBI, Department of Justice. This dream became a reality when he was hired in 2000. Glen was still employed with them serving as a crime analyst for over 21 years.
Glen was compassionate about serving the Lord and was a member of County Line Baptist Church. He participated as Vacation Bible School director, Sunday school teacher, Royal Ambassador’s Leader, and deacon throughout his life. Many seeds of faith were planted by him.
His enthusiasm for playing Santa Claus will be a permanent memory for several children. He always tried to ensure it was a positive experience for the kids, as well as the adults. His jolly laughter will be missed.
Survivors include his wife of 29 years, Charlotte M. Wildey; daughter Danielle Lewandowski; son Daniel Wildey; mother Jackie Wildey; brother Rick Wildey (Karen); grandson Jonathan Lewandowski; mother-in-law Margaret Murdoch; brother-in-law Leon Murdoch (Anne); nephews and niece Aaron Wildey (MaLinda), Casey Wildey (Jayne), Carter Murdoch and Julianne O’Daniel (Brandon). He was preceded in death by his father, Glen W. Wildey and brother, Rex Wildey.
Visitation will be held from 5 pm to 7 pm on Friday, July 8, at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, July 9, at 11 am at County Line Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, and a meal will be provided afterwards in the Family Life Center.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse, Operation Christmas Child.
Visitation & Funeral Service Information
The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. Friday, July 8, 2022 in Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 9, 2022 in County Line Baptist Church with military honors. Interment will be private.
