Walter Puent, a resident of Lake Land’Or in Caroline County, Virginia, passed away suddenly at his home on July 6, 2022. Walter was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 18, 1940, the son of the late Walter and Grace Puent. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served until he was honorably discharged in 1985. Following his military service, Walter taught high school math and science.

Walter was a brilliant man who had impressive knowledge and skill in many areas including construction, mechanical repairs, mathematics, science, and physics. Along with this knowledge, he was a friendly, giving man who was always willing to help anyone who needed it. He had a gift for sharing his knowledge in a way that was clear and understandable. In addition to helping many neighbors with home repairs and maintenance, he also served on numerous committees and work groups within the Lake Land’Or community.

Walter is survived by his wife, Carolyn, along with his son, Matthew Puent, and daughter, Chris Bell; step-daughter Diane (Scott) Weinhold, and grandchildren Ethan and Megan. Along with these, there is a host of other relatives, loved ones and acquaintances who will certainly miss him. A celebration of Walter’s life will be held at the home on Thurs., Aug. 18 at 4:00 pm.
