Henry Battle “Peter” Martin, 85 of Woodford passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022 in Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Caroline, he was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church and he and his wife Hazel B. Martin owned and operated H.B. Martin Hauling for over 40 years. She preceded him in death in 1999 after 42 years of marriage. Peter was also known to his many friends and family by his CB handle “Trail Boss.” He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Joyce E. Martin; his three sons, Jackie Martin (Virginia), Tony Martin (Bonnie) and Paul Martin (Tom); two sisters, Alma Collawn and Ruby Carter; four grandchildren, Melissa Gutridge, Jason Martin, Amanda Martin and Ashley McDonald; 11 great grandchildren; his step children, Julia Orrock (James), Joe Orrock (Teresa), Mary Huff (Tom) and James Sale (Holly); six step grandchildren, Kellie Shupe, Corinne Hockaday, Stephanie Vaillancourt, T.C. Huff, Kaitlyn Orrock and Annabelle Sale and five step great grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9th at 12 noon at Round Oak Baptist Church, Corbin, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the funeral. The pallbearers will be Jackie Martin, Tony Martin, Kevin Gutridge, Bryce Gutridge, Jason Martin and  Josh McDonald. The honorary pallbearers will be Stuart Cecil and Ricky Payne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Visitation & Funeral Service Information

A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 9th at 12 noon at Round Oak Baptist Church, Corbin, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the funeral. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
