James Eugene “JB” Balderson, Jr. 37, of Colonial Beach passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Mary Washington Hospital. JB was born January 4, 1985 to James Eugene Balderson, Sr. and Debbie Grigsby Balderson. He was the Transportation Officer for NSWC Dahlgren for 19 years. JB also owned and operated Balderson Seafood. He was an avid waterman who enjoyed crabbing, fishing, and hunting. JB loved spending time with his family, especially with his wife and daughter, who he dearly loved. JB is survived by his mother, Debbie Grigsby Balderson; wife, Lauren M. Balderson; daughter, Harper Grace Balderson; sister, Heidi Dutcher; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, James Eugene Balderson, Sr. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Friday, December 30, 2022 at Colonial Beach Baptist Church, 10 Garfield Ave, Colonial Beach, VA 22443, where the funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, December 31, 2022. Burial will follow the funeral service at Historyland Memorial Park Cemetery, 11227 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA 22485.
