Joan was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family, on the river shore, outdoors gardening, and watching hummingbirds. She very much enjoyed doing her crafts and attending craft shows.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin and Lillian Owens; sisters, Marion Nichols and Juanita Gallahan; and brother, Wallace “Pete” Owens.
Joan is survived by her husband, Gerald Hayden; children, Deborah Osborne (Johnny) of King George, VA and John Lewis (Debbie-Ann) of Okeechobee, FL; step-son, Kevin Hayden of La Plata, MD; grandson, John Osborne Jr. (Jessica); step-grandson, Grant Hayden; step-granddaughters, Elle Hayden and Hope Hayden; great-grandchildren, Zelda Osborne and Tirion Osborne; sisters, Shirley Gonzales, Sylvia Boggs, and Doris Copen; sister-in-law, Hazel Owens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 11am on Friday, February 3, 2023 at Storke Funeral Home, King George. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow at Historyland Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Gary Owens, Chris Owens, Erik Osborne, Johnny Osborne , John Osborne Jr, and Kevin Hayden.
