She will be remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Thelma was known for not holding back her opinion and had a knack for telling it like it is. She loved her family more than anything in the world, only second to her beloved dogs: Daisy, Chiquita and Ellie Mae.
Thelma enjoyed her time as a caregiver for the family, elderly individuals and every baby born within her family. As the “Crockpot Queen,” she was frequently a critic of her own cooking. Those who attended her holiday meals would tell you she was the best cook ever. She is best remembered by her wild stories, her love for fat hotdogs, Diet Pepsi, and QVC.
Thelma was preceded in death by her husband James Lee Jr. and her parents.
Thelma is survived by her children: James Lee III, Mikel Lee, William Kevin Lee, and Taylor Lee. Additionally, she is survived by her grandchildren: Robin Lee, Jami Provencher, Amy Burkhead and Amanda Lee and her great-grandchildren. As the oldest of six children, Thelma is survived by her siblings: Barbara Camp, Brenda Laird, William Dodd Jr., James Dodd, and Gordon Dodd.
The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
Given her extreme dislike for flowers, memorial contributions in her honor may be made to Westmoreland County Animal Shelter or River of Life Pentecostal Church.
