John K. Parks, Sr., 93, of Colonial Beach, VA, passed away on May 19, 2023. He was born in New Jersey to Frank Prickett and Emily Parks. John served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War and received several medals for his service. After his military duty, he proudly served his community as a head of maintenance for the New Jersey Public Schools.
John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Ruby M. Parks. He is survived by his son, John K. Parks, Jr., and his wife, Deborah Parks; stepdaughters, Marge Barnes and Kathy Arland; son-in-law, Foster Phillips; granddaughters, Toni Gandy, Megan Vincent, and Patricia Latona; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, May 26, 2023, at Historyland Memorial Park.
