Melvin Louis Garnett, 74, of Mechanicsville, formerly of Milford, took his last earthly breath Friday, June 2, 2023, at his home, surrounded by his children and their mother, Judy Bruce Naumann. He was a precious father who will be loved endlessly by his three children, Kimberly Garnett Mayo, Bryan Garnett (Heather) and Erin Leeper (Rodney) and loved and devoted and adored grandfather to seven grandchildren, Mallorie Mayo, Macie Mayo, Caleb Garnett, Baylee Garnett, Savanna Garnett, Kimora Leeper and Gabriel Leeper. Melvin was a lover of fast cars, antiques and good oldies music. The family will receive friends 6-8 pm Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green. A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at Ashland Church of God, 407 Myrtle Street, Ashland, VA. 23005. Burial will follow in Lakewood Cemetery, Bowling Green.
