Show Obituaries Show Guestbook Show Photos QR Code PrintOur beloved daughter, Emma Claire Moulton, also known as Miles by some of her friends, unexpectedly passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the age of 14. She is survived by those who loved her most including her parents Chris and Carrie Marceau Moulton, her siblings Chase and Maisyn, her maternal grandparents Michael (PopPop) and Jeanette Marceau (Nana). Her maternal great-grandmother Dorothy Dials (Nanny), her paternal grandfather Steven Moulton, her maternal aunt and uncle Casey and Arie (AJ) Bird, her cousins Mahala, Madilyn, Makenzee, and her uncle Taylor Marceau, her paternal uncle and aunt, Joshua and Sarah Moulton, her cousins Denver, Henley, Lennox, her paternal uncle Dalton Moulton and cousin Rowan, and many great aunts, uncles, and friends. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother Rose Moulton, her maternal biological grandmother Kathy Mears and maternal great-grandparents Francis “Sparky” (Grandpa) and Jean Mears (Meemaw) and paternal grandparents Lewis and Doris Moulton.
Emma was born on Yokosuka Naval Base in Japan on September 20, 2009, at 7:20pm. Being in a naval family she lived in Japan, Virginia, back to Japan, San Diego, then to King George, Virginia.
Her best friend was her brother Chase, they enjoyed playing the switch, watching and talking about funny YouTube videos, and always having inside jokes that they thought were hilarious. She enjoyed coloring with her sister Maisyn and playing on the slack line, swing set and trampoline together. She enjoyed taking selfies and getting dressed together with her cousins Mahala, Madilyn, and Makenzee. She loved being at the houseboat on the lake with her Nana and PopPop and going horseback riding and zip lining. She loved visiting her Aunt Casey and Uncle AJ and never wanted to leave. When she lived in Japan, she would pack her bags and tell her mom she was flying to Aunt Casey’s. She always had a blast playing Dance Dance Revolution with her Uncle Josh and enjoyed shopping with her Aunt Sarah and cousins, Denver, Henley, and Lennox.
She was a freshman at King George High School and was loved by many of the faculty and students. Her favorite subject was Craft Design. She was an amazing artist and always drawing and doodling, either on paper, on her hands and also on her YouTube channel. She attended her 8th grade year at Dahlgren School.
Emma loved to sing to music in the car and in the shower. She had so many friends all over the world that loved her and that she loved deeply. They were so special to her. She loved any Japanese food, Philly Cheese Steak Pizza, Chicken Alfredo, Panera Bread Mac n Cheese Bowl, and Starbucks.
We invite everyone to share their memories at the Celebration of Life service. A Celebration of Life service will be held for Emma on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at 12 noon at Storke Funeral Home, 11089 James Madison Pkwy, King George, VA 22485.
