Frank was born on November 21, 1939 to the late Frank and Carolyn Biondi in Greensburg, Pennsylvania.
Frank was preceded in death by his loving wife Helen of 60 years. He was the loving and adoring father to Kevin and Jennifer.
Frank was quiet but witty. He could always crack a good joke and put a smile on your face. He was a very hard worker with his primary goal to provide well for his family whom he loved deeply and enjoyed spending time with. He was a true definition of a family man who always put his family first. Frank’s main purpose was to see his children succeed in life by obtaining a secondary education that would lead to meaningful, prosperous careers. He led by example and continuously encouraged his children to work hard and to never give up on their dreams and passions. He was clearly a very proud and devoted father who deeply loved and believed in his children.
Frank had a passion for the great outdoors. He was very active and could be found biking with his wife for 20-30 miles several times per week on the Great Allegheny Passage Bike trail. When not biking, he enjoyed hiking and long walks. He enjoyed visiting many of the National Parks. He always looked forward to the annual family vacation to the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He loved planting flowers and having a large vegetable garden each summer. He enjoyed canning tomato sauce and vegetables. He was a fantastic cook and made the absolute best homemade spaghetti sauce and meatballs.
Frank began his career as a butcher at Kroger’s in 1957. He retired from Giant Eagle in 2006. Frank also served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He spent time at Fort AP Hill, Camp Pickett, and Fort Knox.
He will be missed greatly by his loving son Kevin Biondi, his daughter Jennifer (John) Mabold, his adoring grandchildren, Cara (Vonte), Sydney, and Connor, his great granddaughter Eliana, his brother Rick (Debbie) Biondi, his sister-in-law Rose Ann (Jim) Matthews, and his 3 nieces.
A memorial service will be planned for the spring at St. John’s Episcopal Church in King George, Virginia.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Foundation.
“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together… there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart…I’ll always be with you.” -Winnie the Pooh
