Barbara Anne Gardiner, 71 of King George, formerly of Colorado passed away on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Born in San Diego, to her parents John & Charlene Flanigan. Barbara was blessed as a military child to live in many places.  Settling down eventually in Southern Maryland where her children were raised.  She was a familiar face at the boys’ games.  If you didn’t see her there, you could surely find her at the barn.

Later in life, she made a big move out to Green Mountain Falls, Colorado.   It was there that she and her deceased husband, Mark spent many happy years and developed lifelong friendships.  No matter which state she resided in, her love of horses, show competitions, rodeos, lessons, and trail rides was a constant in her life.

Barbara shared qualities of unconditional love, strength, and generosity that extended beyond her immediate family to encompass a wide network of loved ones. Barbara’s passion in life was her love for horses, teaching others about horses and teaching horseback riding lessons. She volunteered at her local saddle club, 4-H clubs, and she was also a member of the National Barrel Horse Association (NBHA). Her compelling enthusiasm shined through anytime she would engage with others and teach them about horses.  Her grandchildren were her world and she was beyond excited at recently becoming a great-grandmother.

Her sudden departure comes too soon, and it is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her dearly. The family deeply appreciates your support during this difficult time and asks that you make contributions to our memorial fund in lieu of flowers and contribute by sharing memories.

She is survived by her sons, Steven Gardiner (Carla) and Timmy Gardiner (Robin); two sisters, Kati Flanigan, and Linda Raehn; a brother, Johnny Flanigan; four grandchildren, Kyle Gardiner (Savannah), Kelsey Gardiner, Lindsay Gardiner, and Kaylyn Gardiner and a great-granddaughter, Hartley Gardiner.
