Born November 14, 1967 in Suffolk, Virginia, to Bruce Grady and Juanita Grady. However, due to her Father’s early death, was reared by Buddy and Juanita Mudd. Julie was a graduate of King George High School where she met her husband Roland “Ricky” Burgess. Julie worked at Dahlgren Navel Base until the birth of her son Nicholas. Known for her kind heart, Julie enjoyed time with family, especially the children. Her nieces and nephews knew her as “Fun Aunt Julie” and the type of aunt that would jump in a pool with all her clothes on just to play with them. Julie enjoyed watching the Washington Redskins, as well as discussing politics. She inherited her driving skills from her Grandmother, Stella, her foot was either hard on the gas or hard on the brake.
Survivors include: Husband, Roland Burgess; Son, Nicholas Burgess; Parents, Juanita Mudd-Felts, and her husband, Otis. father, Clarence Mudd Sr.; Siblings, Carol Mudd, Clarence Mudd Jr. and his wife, Kelly, Mary Mudd-Thorsted, and her husband, Kenny; and Ashley Mudd; In-laws, Dottie Burgess; Peggy Mullins; Linda Kline and her husband, Milton; John Burgess and his wife, Vel; Betty Kniceley and her husband, Roger; numerous aunts and uncles, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 26, 2024 in Tabernacle Baptist Church, 10640 Kings Hwy, King George. Interment will be private. The family will receive friends from 10 am until service time at the church on Friday.
