Frank W. Reynolds, 89, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2024 in Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was born on October 27, 1934 at Alexandria Hospital. He was the son of the late Harvey and Della Reynolds.

Mr. Reynolds worked at Alexandria Hospital in the Engineering Department for 37 years from 1961-1998. He volunteered for several years with the Penn Daw Rescue Squad. As a young man, he became quite good on roller skates and spent a lot of free time at the Alexandria Roller Rink. He bowled in a league at the hospital.

In later years, he enjoyed camping and spent many happy times at the Goose Bay Campground. Frank loved making children smile and was a wonderful Santa Claus for many holiday parties at the hospital and the campground. Frank loved country music and was especially proud of his son Jay whose drumming skills took him to Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry and on the road with several country artists.  Frank was an avid fan of the Washington Redskins and he stayed loyal to them even in challenging times.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Suzanne; his daughter-in law, Elizabeth Darlene; his sister, Margaret; and his brothers, Johnny and Jimmy. He is survived by his son, Jay (Kimberley) Reynolds; granddaughter, Holly (B.J.) Dunford; grandson, Stephen Flowers; grandchildren, Will and Maggie Flowers; his longtime companion, Fay Holder; and, other extended family and friends.

On Monday, February 12, 2024, at 12 noon, a memorial service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 5312 Backlick Rd; Springfield, Virginia. The family will receive visitors at the church one hour prior to the service. A private burial will follow at Mount Comfort Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank’s name to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital; 501 St. Jude Place; Memphis, TN 38105.
