Vivian Arlene Burroughs Campbell was born on April 9, 1951, in Washington, D.C. to the late Lewis Conwell Burroughs Sr. and Roberta Maxine Neale Burroughs. She passed peacefully on Sunday, March 3, 2024, surrounded by her family at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia.

Vivian graduated from Gwynn Park High School in Brandywine, Maryland, and went on to attend Virginia State University where she met her future husband, Stanley Leonard Campbell Sr. Vivian began her long career working for the United States Government as a contract specialist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division before retiring after 37 years of dedicated service. After retirement, Vivian went back to work as a Defense Contractor for several years.

At an early age, Vivian accepted Christ while attending Asbury United Methodist Church in Brandywine, Maryland. Upon moving to King George, she joined Antioch Baptist Church. Later, she joined King George Church of God before returning to Antioch where she enjoyed serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Vivian enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid word game player, known as one of the best in the family at games such as Boggle, Scrabble, and Word searches. Vivian enjoyed bowling, gardening, bible studies, and being in the fellowship of friends, but most of all she enjoyed her children and grandchildren who affectionally called her “Nana”.

Vivian loved everyone unconditionally! She believed in paying it forward and was the true epitome of “love thy neighbor”. She was never a person to turn away anyone in need. If she had the means to help, she would! If she did not have the means to help, she would still find a way!

Vivian is survived by her devoted children, Stanley Campbell (Alecia) of Spotsylvania, Virginia, and Vichele Campbell of King George, Virginia; her bonus daughter Doris Jones (Troy) of Florida; one brother, Lewis Burroughs Jr. (Roxanne) of Maryland; three sisters, Adaline Smith of Florida, Wanda Barnes (Rick) of Maryland, and Helena Johnson of Nevada; seven grandchildren, Tony Loveless, Jr., Xavier Campbell, Trenton Loveless, Laila Campbell, Alivia Campbell, Brandon Hinton, and Darius Hinton; two great-grandchildren, Laiyah Hinton and Zoey Hinton and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, godchildren, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 14th at Antioch Baptist Church, 11102 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485.
