Jamison Scott Weil was born on 11/3/1974 in West Covina, California to parents Edward Simon Weil Reyes Jr. and Kathy Louise Weil. He passed away on 4/13/2024 at home surrounded by his loving wife, his sister, pets, crystals, and his favorite music.  Jamison valiantly fought against stage four thyroid cancer and beat physician predictions on how long he would live. He fought right up until the very end to enjoy every moment.  Jamison grew up a rough and tumble kid who alternated between tormenting or adoring his sister and together they got into enough shenanigans to drive everyone around them nuts! Jamison struggled with addiction for many years and life during those years was overflowing with hard lessons. He spent years on dead tour traveling around the country, hanging on shakedown, and looking for miracles. The music of the Grateful Dead was a central focal point throughout his life. Jamison worked as a sub-contractor doing IT infrastructure cabling for the Pentagon during a traumatic time in our Country’s history.  Post the 9/11 attack Jamison received a commendation from George W. Bush and Donald Rumsfeld for his bravery and service. He was there the day of the attack and he continued to come to work in unsafe working conditions to finish the job. He got sober on 11/17/2012 and a few months into his sobriety he met his future wife, Karen. Together they became sober buddies, best friends, adventurers, connected in sobriety, music, and gratitude. Jamison spent his working years doing many different types of work, but his passion and love was landscaping because he loved being outdoors. He was a licensed landscaper which was a point of pride for him! He knew just what plants and lawns needed to thrive, and worked hard ensuring his customers’ needs were met. Jamison’s personality was such that he was a force to be reckoned with and people would fall in love with him immediately as he was charming and endearing. He was blessed in life with friends who have withstood the test of time, Jamie’s ups and downs, and successes! People genuinely cared about Jamison and were inspired by his tenacious spirit. He is survived by his wife Karen Weil, his parents Edward Weil Reyes Jr. and Kathy Weil (divorced), his sister Laura Weil-Noppenberger, niece Reina “Ezra” Noppenberger, his Tia’s who he loved, his in-laws Rose and Jeff, and many other family and friends! My life has been made immeasurably better by my brother’s love!  We are truly humbled by all the GFM contributions that allowed Jamison to focus exclusively on his health, reconnection with loved ones, and have some final adventures! We are indebted to you all.
