Pat Patrick Hayden 78, of Midlothian, Virginia passed away on May 14, 2024.  Mr. Hayden was born in Saltville, Virginia on April 11, 1946 and was the son of the late Gilbert Samuel and Lucille Johnson Hayden.  In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his brothers Sam, Roger, and Leo Hayden and sister Cleo  McCready After attending community college Pat moved to the Richmond area where he was employed by various freight companies.  He was a retired teamster with 36 yeas of service and went on to drive for Ukrops and Giant food for the next 11 years before fully retiring. Other than spending time with family and friends, he  loved traveling and enjoying the outdoors. He was also an avid  NASCAR fan, and enjoyed working on all types of machinery, Pat is survived by his wife Elizabeth Alexander Hunter,  daughter Christina R. Hayden, sister in law Carrie R. Hayden, three nieces, Candy and Sabrina Williams, and Amy Hayden, one nephew Jason McCready, and several great nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in King George, Virginia on Friday May 17, 2024 at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Cancer Society.
