Vickie Carol Bourne Niemann went to dance in heaven on June 2nd, 2024 at 73 years old. She is preceded in death by her mother Elizabeth “Boo” Bourne, father Joseph T. Bourne, and brother Joseph E. Bourne.

Vickie will be sorely missed by her husband, Alan Niemann; daughter and son-in-law, Sierra Frazier and Neal Frazier; sister, Patricia Godfrey; uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Phyllis Sullivan; cousins, Donna Decker and Diane Walker; nephews, and numerous friends throughout the Fredericksburg community.

Vickie Niemann was the definition of tenacity. From birth, she had to overcome numerous obstacles due to her diagnosis of cerebral palsy. Even though it impacted her ability to speak, she never let that stop her from speaking her mind and doing what she wanted to do. She was fiercely loyal, almost to a fault and her demise at times. She learned to drive despite her momma’s wishes, had a child despite medicine’s prognosis on her chances, and loved fiercely to the very end. Vickie Niemann, despite her physical limitations, worked harder than anyone around her both at home and at Mary Washington College and Chick Fil A, where she cleaned for over a decade bringing smiles to patron’s faces. Even as arthritis and dementia began to take over, Vickie won over the hearts of her caretakers and roommates with her sweet, caring soul. She always worried about everyone else before herself to the very end.

While she will be missed and days will be dimmer without her presence, her family rests in the fact that she was a born again believer in Jesus Christ and is no longer in pain or struggling. She did not gather many treasures here on Earth, but she is now ravishing in the treasures stored in heaven waiting for her arrival. She is dancing and singing to Elvis, rejoicing with Jesus, her parents, brother and dog King whom she missed so much. This is not goodbye, but we love you and will see you again on the other side.
