Daniel E. Summy, 80, of Spotsylvania died Friday, June 14, 2024 at his home. Born in Maryland, he had worked 30 years for Southland Corporation and E F Thompson trucking for about 6 years. He was a member of Ambassador Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Peggy Summy; a daughter, Charlene McGee (Tom); a sister, Amanda; a brother, Floyd; three grandchildren, Tommy McGee (Joy), Nicole Yansky, and Daniel McGee (Nicole); and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Lewis E. Morris, Jr. and a son-in-law, Chris Yansky.  A funeral service will be held 2 pm Sat., June 22 at Ambassador Baptist Church, 11434 Fredericksburg Turnpike, Woodford, VA 22580. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery.
