He was the sibling of Sharon D “Brown” Calandra, Victor Lee Brown and Angela Rena Brown. He was raised in Brooklyn, NY where he met his first true love, the late Debra Ann Heyward, who later created their daughter Shakea Zavasia “Brown” Heyward. He was educated in Brooklyn, NY. Emanuel aka Wayne, left Brooklyn to begin his new journey of life in the state of Maryland in 2001 where he started work as a Handyman. After working as a Handyman, he worked with several different companies doing construction and odd jobs. Emanuel always kept a well groomed appearance, great work ethics, loved to wear lots of gold chains (like he was still in the 80’s) and listen to music!
The Lord called Emanuel home on July 6, 2024, at 61 years of age. After settling down in King George, VA with his life companion Ms. Levetia Coates (of a Decade plus). Emanuel was a charming/loving individual with flaws like any other human being. To love him was to know him and to know him was to understand/accept him. In the words of “Wayne” (Whelp). I guess he’ll be “doing it and doing it and doing it well” (his favorite LL cool j song) in his eternal life!
Emanuel was a very mild mannered extrovert, if that makes any sense. He loved to keep up his awesome physique by not eating sweets but indulging in his favorite snack sunflower seeds and Tropicana Orange juice. Lets not forget he also kept his hair waves spinning enough to make you sea sick. He had to iron his clothes until they could almost stand on their own. The wrinkles had no chance lol. When it was time to remove them he would do so with such care/grace so they wouldn’t get wrinkled, to only place them in the dirty clothes bag anyway. The memories…..
Emanuel leaves to cherish his life, Ms. Levetia Coates his life long companion, his one and only child Shakea “Brown” Heyward and granddaughter Phanya Denny. His remaining siblings Sharon D “Brown” Calandra, Victor Lee Brown, Angela Rena Brown and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. You will be greatly missed by those who loved and accepted you for you! Love you Daddy.
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge;
His faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
Nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness, nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.”
Psalm 91:4-7
