Julian Powell, 83, of King George, VA passed away on July 16, 2024.   Known affectionately as “Turkey”, Julian loved to spend time fishing and cheering on the Redskins. He was an all-around good guy, always ready to help with anything.   Julian is preceded in death by his parents, James & Sadie Powell; and his siblings, Joyce, Alice, Margie, Leroy, Russell, Tommy, and Billy.   He leaves behind his cherished wife of 43 years, Ginny Powell; step-son, David Conner; brother, Douglas Powell; sister-in-law, Barbara Jenkins; niece, Shirley Ann Frank; good friends, Kurt Ballard and Jeff Walters; and his “baby dog” Missy, who loved him dearly.   A funeral service will be held at 11:30am on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Storke Funeral Home, King George. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Drive, Fredericksburg, VA.   In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Tabernacle Church General Fund, 10640 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485.
