Garland L. “Lin” Allen, Sr. 78 of Caroline County moved on to his heavenly home on August 19, 2024, after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Lin was born on March 29, 1946 to Garland and Ruth Allen of Ladysmith and grew up working in the family store, Allen’s General Merchandise. He had retired from Rappahannock Electric Cooperative after 39 years of service. He was an avid hunter with Newtown Sportsman Association and also enjoyed rabbit hunting with his beagles. He loved to fish and was known as “Fish Finder” on the river. He was a member of Passion Community Church. One of his greatest loves was his family. Lin was preceded in death by his former wife, Carol Allen and his sisters, Patsy Acors (Reginald), Judy Broaddus and Donna Bounds. He is survived by his daughter, Shelly Webb (Frank) and his son, Lindon Allen; his grandchildren, Jordan Eddy (Josh), Regan and Cameron Allen and Nicholas Reynolds; his great granddaughter, Kylie Eddy; his sister, Cindi McInteer (Jim); brothers in law, Reuben Broaddus and Shelby Bounds and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 24^th at 2:00pm in the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30 until 2:00pm. Following the burial in Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery, a reception will be held at Cardinal Baptist Church, 25050 Ruther Glen Road, Ruther Glen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Passion Community Church in Aylett, Virginia.
