John Clinton “Clint” Alley, Jr., 68 of Glen Allen departed this station in life, bound for his heavenly Father’s home on September 11, 2024, after a long, hard fight with cancer. Born in Richmond, Clint worked for a time with the railroad before just recently retiring from a career with the Virginia Alcoholic and Beverage Control Board as a Security Sergeant/Supervisor. He grew up at Deep Run Baptist Church where he was ordained a Deacon. He was active in many roles at Deep Run, including becoming the Stew Master for the church’s annual brunswick stew gathering. In more recent years, “Mr. Clint” has been a faithful and active member in numerous capacities at Winn’s Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Janice E. “Lissa” Alley; his children, John Clinton Alley, III, Amanda Grace Alley and his Westie “daughter”, Ellie; his mother in law, Janice C. Shaughnessy; brothers and sister in law, Jim Hamrick, Mary Helen Tinnell, David Clarke (Melody), Catherine Clarke, Dan Clarke (Kristin, Shirley Friesenhahn (Ryan) and Donetta Swenor (Jeff). Clint was preceded in death by his parents, John Sr. and Mary Robinson Alley; his siblings, Faris Hamrick, Barbara Anne Childress, Gail A. Crews and Sandra Hardie Milaios. Clint was loved by many, including extended family; brother of other mothers, multiple nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews and especially the Winn’s Church family. A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:00am in Winn’s Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Youth Group, AWANA or the Security Team at Winn’s Baptist Church.  

Visitation & Funeral Service Information

A funeral service to celebrate his life will be held on Tuesday, September 17th at 11:00am in Winn’s Baptist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church, one hour prior to the service.
