Following his graduation from Lynchburg College, he taught school for a year and then began training as a farrier in the Army at Fort Myer. In 1968, he started his own horseshoeing service which he continued for over 50 years. Eddie loved farming, raising cattle and managing mules and horses. An avid outdoorsman, hunting, fishing and later foxhunting were his passions. He leaves behind his wife of 52 years, Becky; sisters, Terry Peyton and Catherine Wheeler; nieces, Kim Stephens (Scott), Angie Prather (Mike) and Lauren Parker (Burr Sutter) and nephew, Chris Peyton; as well as extended family and many dear friends; and especially his beloved GSD, Chikki.
