Arthur “Art” Turlington, born on June 26, 1956, in Washington, D.C., passed away on October 16, 2024, in Colonial Beach, Virginia. Art was a devoted husband to Linda Turlington and a loving father to his four children: Scott Ward, Traci Johnson (Jay), Erin Ward, and Rebecca DeVanney. He cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Renee DeRosia (Alan), Julia Rivera (Eduardo), Skylar Johnson (Olivia), Justin Johnson, Taylor DeVanney, Cassidy Ward, and Avarie Ward, as well as his great-grandchildren Lincoln Sky and Elowyn Monroe. Art was known for his infectious spirit and was the life of every gathering. He had a knack for storytelling and was always ready to share a few “dad jokes” that kept everyone laughing. His passion for life’s simple pleasures was evident in his love for golf, fishing, crabbing, and skiing. Above all, Art cherished spending time with his family, creating memories that will last a lifetime. He was preceded in death by his parents Mamie and Doug Turlington, and his brother James Turlington. He is survived by his siblings, Andrew Turlington (Shirley), and Janet Carpenter (Lemuel), who will remember him fondly for his generous nature and unwavering support. Art’s legacy of kindness and humor will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
