Sean proudly served as a Firefighter/Paramedic with NDW Fire Department, having joined the department in 2013. Over the years, he earned his NREMT-Medic certification and was honored multiple times for his dedication and excellence. Most recently, he was awarded a Life Saving award for a successful CPR save, and received a Congressional Letter of Recognition for his role in the rescue of a victim of a house fire in March, 2024.
Known for his initiative, Sean often stepped in to help others with projects around the station. He played an essential role in emergency medical services, overseeing various programs and developing a modernized EMS bag system. He was also the station’s go-to IT guy, responsible for many of its technological advancements.
Sean’s unique sense of humor and love for life set him apart. He enjoyed joking with and cooking for his family, colleagues and neighbors. He was a passionate “Foodie”, always eager to sample, prepare and share the most unusual foods. He was loving, witty and always quick to make others laugh. He made large and lasting impression on everyone around him.
As a young man, he loved skiing, sailing and scuba diving. He entered the fire service as a young adult, following in his father’s footsteps. He was known in high school as “Swirlee”, a nickname he proudly displayed as the license plate of his first car. As an adult, he was a doting dog-dad and advocate for various animal shelters. He enjoyed do-it-yourself home projects and learning new skills which he was always happy to use helping his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Craig & Lois Green; and his maternal grandmother, Beulah Jones.
Sean is survived by his devoted wife, Betsey Anne Moneyhon; loving parents, Jane & Doug Worley; beloved dogs, Monster, Jeep, Groot, and Pumpkin; sister, Amanda Worley; step-brother, Michael Paige, III; aunts, Brenda Worley and Sandy Murphy; uncles, Rick Worley (Tammi) and Eddie Denton (Tiffini); and grandad, Johnny Denton.
