Louise H. Campbell, 94, of King George, entered into eternal rest on October 27, 2024.
Louise dedicated over 35 years as a foster care parent, nurturing and shaping the lives of countless children. Known for her strong yet loving nature, Louise guided her family with steadfast wisdom and unwavering care, endearing her to family by birth and by design.
A devout follower of Christ, Louise was active at Antioch Baptist Church, where she joyfully served as Church Clerk, Deaconess, choir member, and in the Kitchen Club and Missionary Ministry. As a founding member of the Authentic Gospel Singers, her soprano voice praised the Lord and uplifted her community in song. Her unwavering commitment to her church and her faith was a testament to the love of God she carried in her heart.
Beyond her church, Louise also served her community as poll chair with the Voter Registration Board and as secretary of the King George/DC Sportsman Club.
Fondly known as “Grandma” or “Gee Gee”, Louise shared her culinary gifts with family and friends, from her renowned cakes to her famous potato salad. She was truly a blessing to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence Campbell, Sr.; her son, Stanley Campbell; her parents, Willie & Henrietta Harvey; and 9 siblings, Blanche Owens, Mamie Yancey, James “Buster” Harvey, Elizabeth Williams, Burt Harvey, Percy Harvey, Mollie Calloway, Emma Harvey, and Willie “Bill” Harvey.
Louise’s memory will live on in her children, Alice Moore, Clarence “Soup” Campbell, Anthony Campbell (Ruth), Antwane Campbell (Ashley), and Chantel Campbell; her grandchildren, Doris (Troy), Neil (Jennifer), Lenny (Alecia), Vichele, LaToya, Tony (Shalonda), Aaron (Samantha), Andrew, Ross, Elijah, Ryleigh, Aidan, and Avery; fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; her extended family of foster children, including special daughter, Sheila Gibson; God-daughter, Jessica Sindel; dear friend, Anna Hughes; and a special caregiver and niece, Niecy Allen; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Friday, November 8, 2024 at Storke Funeral Home, King George, and from 11am until service time on Saturday, November 9, 2024 at Antioch Baptist Church. A celebration of Louise’s life and faith will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
