Virginia “Ginnie Kaye” Braden, 63, of King George passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2024.

Born and raised in King George, Ginnie Kaye graduated from King George High School before attending Ferrum College, graduating with a degree in Agriculture. She continued her education at Eastern Martinsville’s School of Farriery. Ginnie Kaye began her career as a farrier, building a strong reputation in the horse community, and continued to work as a barn sitter after retiring. She will be remembered for her independence, self-reliance, dedication to her work, and passion for horses.

Ginnie Kaye was preceded in death by her parents, Moose & Betty Lou Braden; and brother, Smokey Braden.

She is survived by her husband, Danny Greene; brother, Brian Braden (Kathy); sister-in-law, Shirley Braden; nieces and nephews, Bo, Andrew, Marybeth, and Morgan; and a host of cousins.

A memorial service to celebrate Ginnie Kaye’s life will be held at 2pm on Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Storke Funeral Home, King George, with the family receiving friends one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Ginnie Kaye’s name to the King George Animal Rescue League at https://www.kgarl.org/.
