Charles (“Charlie”) Linwood Jewell, 85, of Charlotte Hall, MD passed away in the early morning of November 23, 2024.  He was born November 2, 1939, to the late William Ray Jewell and Annie Belle (Robbins) Jewell. He was one of eleven children.

Charles married Sheila Smith, they settled in Port Tobacco, MD and had six children. Charles worked for Local 602 and built his family’s home. He could build anything he set his mind to, he enjoyed working with his hands. He often helped family with building their homes or working on their cars.

He is survived by his children, Chuck Jewell, Marcel Jewell, Kevin (Amy) Jewell, Virginia Jewell; and, his grandchildren Gabriel Jewell, Rachel Jewell, Samuel Jewell and Michael Jewell. He is also survived by siblings, Doug Jewell, Mary Coffey-Winstead, Dee Webber, Paula Gowen and Teresa Jordan. He is preceded in death by his wife, Sheila (Smith) Jewell, his children, Sonia Jewell and Gregory Jewell. He is also preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Martha Kite, Billy Jewell, Ann D’Avanzo, Tony Jewell and Patty Sepety.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 6, 2024 at 11am for a graveside service at Historyland Memorial Park & Arboretum, 11227 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485.
