A faithful member of Colonial Beach United Methodist Church since 1952, Sue served her church community in various roles. She taught Sunday school and worked with the Methodist Youth Fellowship in the late 1950s and 1960s, and joined the church choir in 1959, remaining a member ever since. After a move to Fredericksburg in 2007, Sue joined Peace Methodist Church. Sue was also an active member of the Central Rappahannock Regional Library Friends.
