Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Michael Joseph Anthony Sr, 77, was welcomed into the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in the presence of his devoted wife and eldest daughter. Mike was born on May 31, 1947 and grew up in Mechanicsville, VA attending Lee Davis High School where he met the love of his life, Nancy May Higgins who he married on February 25, 1966. Their remarkable love story blossomed into a beautiful family, blessed with five children and nine grandchildren, each one a testament to the love and legacy they shared.

Mike is predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. Anthony and Jeanne E. Anthony as well as his beloved sister, Bonnie Anthony Penny. Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Higgins Anthony, his dearly loved children, Michaelle Palkovics (Bob), Jeneen Gnilka (Charles), Mike Anthony Jr. (Kim), Kenny Anthony (Jessica), and Kimberley Smith (Aaron), as well as 9 cherished grandchildren, Ashley (Geoffroy), Zack, Kristen, Michael, Ray, Joshua, Brody, Dani, and Oscar, his brothers Erve Anthony, Keith Anthony, and sister, JoJo Martin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mike’s life is marked by his service to God, his family, and community. He poured his heart into his profession as an industry-renowned service technician for Mercury Marine from 1988 until he retired in 2018. His love for boating and powerful outboard engines didn’t end after working hours, as he spent much of his time alongside his family on the river near his home in Colonial Beach. He taught all of his children and countless others to waterski and he served as President of his community HOA for many years landing him the playful nickname of King of Berkeley Beach. In addition, he served the Lord as an Elder at Rappahannock Church of Christ in Warsaw, Virginia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, December 27 from 12 noon to 2 pm at Rappahannock Church of Christ in Warsaw, Virginia. A funeral service and reception at the church will follow beginning at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family requests making a donation to the Annual Josh Baughan Ride-in Cruise-in at Rappahannock Church of Christ.
