She loved her church family at County Line Baptist Church and though she had been unable to attend recently because of illness, she was faithful to watch it every Sunday and still served on committees there. She was also devoted to Community Bible Study and was a humble and faithful leader in the ministry for many years. Marie retired as Director of Administrative Services from Virginia Farm Bureau after 41 years. Marie served in the Ladysmith Rescue Squad for 32 years where she held positions of Secretary, Treasurer, First Lieutenant, and Captain. She was named Outstanding Squad Member of the year in 2007 and 2022.
Marie is survived by her beloved grandson, Joshua, who was the love of her life and her son-in-love Robert Harmon (Crystal); two sisters, Dorothy Busic (Dudley)and Dale Lucy; a brother, Gene (Jackie) Crisp; nieces and nephews, Steve Busic (Helen), Dana Egan (Kevin), Chris Lucy (Nancy), Susan Webb (John), Matthew Crisp, and Amanda Marley (Trae) and a number of great nieces and nephews. She was very loved by her whole family. She was preceded in death by her beloved daughter, Anna Harmon, her husband, Emmett Farmer, her parents, Ralph and Virginia Crisp and her father and mother-in-love, Emmett and Rachel Farmer.
A funeral will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, January 4, 2025, with visitation at 12 Noon, at County Line Baptist Church, Ruther Glen, VA. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be her nephews, Steve Busic, Chris Lucy, Matthew Crisp, Kevin Egan and John Webb and her son-in-love, Robert Harmon. Ladysmith Volunteer Rescue Squad will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Marie loved the Lord with all her heart and was devoted to doing what she could to advance His kingdom on earth, such a witness of perseverance and trusting in God’s eternal rest and hope for those who believe.
