Dolores “Giggles” McKenney Combs, 85 of Colonial Beach passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2025 in Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Washington DC, she was raised in Westmoreland County. When she was an infant, her brother Bill gave her the nickname of Giggles and it stuck for a lifetime. She was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, where she was active in the kitchen ministry and was well known for her sweat tea. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Ernie Combs; her daughter, Melody Veit (Ron); her grandson, Corey Veit (Addison); her great grandchildren, Levi and Quin Veit; her sisters, Jackie Worrell (Ray, deceased) and Rubie Diggs (Lloyd, deceased); her brothers, Bill McKenney (Mary Jane) and Donald McKenney (Shirley); and numerous nieces, nephews and close friends, whom she considered family. A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 20^th at 10:00am at Oak Grove Baptist Church. A reception and time of fellowship will immediately follow, there at the church. A graveside committal will take place at 2:00pm in Nomini Baptist Church Cemetery, Montross.
