Stanley M. Burrell, 72, of Partlow, passed away on February 1, 2025.

Known affectionately as “Stan the Man”, he was a strong willed, charismatic, and kind hearted man who never met a stranger. Stan proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy before dedicating many years to his career at Dahlgren.

An avid outdoorsman, he found joy in hunting, fishing, and teaching hunter education courses. He also had a love for bowling and riding his Harley Davidson. A natural fixer, Stan could repair anything – often restoring hidden treasures he found. He was a skilled ham radio operator and always enjoyed tinkering.

Stan was a devoted neighbor, always ready to lend a hand, and though his “tough love” approach was legendary, his family knew it was his way of showing how deeply he cared.

Stan is preceded in death by his parents, Jim & Evelyn Burrell.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 47 years, Shirley; daughters, Sarah Phounsavath (Elavanh) and Jamie Bogart (Dennis); grandchildren, Ty Phounsavath and Elle Phounsavath; and sisters, Cheryle Martin (Fred), Janice Kenter (Bill), and Laura Stevens (Dickie).

The family will receive friends from 5-7pm on Monday, February 10 at Storke Funeral Home, King George. A funeral service will be held at 11am on Tuesday, February 11 at Storke Funeral Home, King George followed by burial at Historyland Memorial Park.
