Henry “Hank” George Lynd, 75, of Woodford died Tuesday, February 18, 2025 at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in New York he was the son of the late Henry Anthony and Stephanie Stoehr Lynd. He was preceded in death by his sister, Chrystene Rockenbach. Hank served in the ARMY and while stationed at Fort A.P. Hill as an MP he met his wife June. He was a deputy for Caroline County Sheriff’s Office for many years, owned Sport – N – Talk for several years and worked as a salesman for Rappahannock Motors in King George County. He enjoyed fishing, loved all animals and especially loved his family. Hank also coached the kids’ soccer teams of Caroline.  Survivors include his loving wife, June T. Lynd; his children, Steven Lynd (Sarah) and Chrystene Groves (Daniel); four grandchildren, Elsie, Andrew, Taylor and Eric; his sister-in-law, Jane Taylor; a brother, John Lynd; a brother-in-law, Jeff Rockenbach, a sister-in-law Pat Dean (Gary) and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Greenlawn Cemetery with lunch to follow at Bowling Green Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Caroline Animal Shelter, 14080 Devils Three Jump Road, Milford, VA 22514.
