Sanford Marion Wright, 62, of Corbin, died Sunday, February 23, 2025.  Sanford was a loving individual who cared deeply for his family and he became a friend to all he met.  He was fun-loving and always smiling as he waved to most everyone as they passed by his home in Corbin. He seemed to know them all. Sanford loved spending time with his family and visiting friends around the community.  Sanford was also a close friend to members of his church family at Round Oak Baptist.  There he enjoyed many church activities including singing in the choir, trips, bowling as well as other activities, and always the many church suppers.    After a life altering accident followed by many months of hospitalization and rehabilitation, Sanford remained strong and was able to graduate from Caroline High School in 1981.  He worked for many years at places in the local area including the Simmons Mattress Company, Fredericksburg City Schools, and Cracker Barrel. Sanford later worked with Service Source at the FBI Academy in Quantico where he received “Excellence in Service” commendations for his work while there.  Sanford was preceded in death by his parents Earl Garnett Wright and Ocie Rose Wright, and his brother Ronald “Rocky” Wright. Survivors include his two brothers, William Earl “Bill” (Edie) and Scott (Debbie); two nieces, Kimberly Colbert (Jason) and Renee Hammel (Rob); a nephew, Brian Wright (Margaret); a great nephew, Jaxon Wright and a great niece, Matilda Rose Wright. The family will receive friends 1-2 PM Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.  A funeral service will follow at 2 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Round Oak Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box ;129, Corbin, VA. 22446.
