Franklin “Frank” Chiraud Johnson, 86 of Waldorf, MD departed this life on Thursday, March 6, 2025 at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center, Clinton, MD.  Frank was born on June 4, 1938 to the late Rosie and Charlie Johnson.

Frank received his education in the King George County public schools.  Frank was a member of Union Bethel Baptist Church, and in his earlier years he took pride in providing his carpentry skills, specifically replacing the wooden frames that surround the stained-glass windows for the beauty and edification of the sanctuary.  Frank was a laborer who worked hard to provide for his ten children.  Frank loved to dress to impress wearing suits and hats and never owned a pair of denim jeans.  In his past time, he washed and waxed his cars to shine to perfection.  He loved to hunt, fish and he was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.  In his later years he loved listening to gospel music and he would get excited about going to church.  Even after his health began to decline and Alzheimer’s was taking over, he still had that strong desire to get dressed and go to church.  Frank loved praising his Lord and Savior.

Frank was preceded in death by the following: Parents-Rosie and Charlie Johnson, Brothers-John, Paul, Leon and William Johnson, Sisters-Rebecca Dixon, Grace Johnson, Theresa Johnson, Ruth Earle, Catherine Green and Gloria Warren, Children-Barbara Beverly, Gerald Peyton and Jeremiah Johnson, Grandchildren-Pareethia Beverly and Antowne Robinson.

Left to cherish his memories is his long-time companion Nancy Johnson and his children Geraldine Peyton, Christine Jackson, Franklin Johnson, (Marilyn Johnson) Erica Woodland, Larry Johnson and Gail Johnson. Grandchildren-Patrick Jackson, Shannon Tolliver, Derrick Woodland, Evan Woodland, Steven Woodland, Sharday Johnson, Deanna Johnson, Lakeysha Charity, Tyreese Robinson, Regina Peyton, Shantayne Beverly, Jernole Beverly and Carol Beverly, along with a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will receive friends at 10am on Saturday, March 22 at Union Bethel Baptist Church, 9084 Will Loop, King George, VA.  A funeral service will begin at 11am with burial to follow in the church cemetery.
