Preston Edward Morris, 73, of Hanover County, passed away on April 25, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born to the late Perkins and Jessie Morris, Edward was also preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Lee Morris. He is survived by his son, Michael Morris (Lisa); his daughter, Tina Morris (Vernon Campbell); and his cherished grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, and McKinley. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers, Wayne Morris (Shirley) and Rodney Morris (Cyndi); his sisters, Laurie Mallory (Lynwood), Kathy Six (Michael), and Linda Holloway (Carlton); along with numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

Edward dedicated over four decades of his life to the poultry industry as a truck driver, beginning with Holly Farms Poultry from 1974 to 1989, and later with Tyson Foods until his retirement in 2016. Known for his generous spirit and his willingness to lend a hand whenever needed, Edward found his greatest joy in spending time with his family — and he was most proud of his grandchildren, never missing a chance to talk about them to anyone who would listen.

He also had a lifelong love for big rigs, tractors, black smoke and the sound of a good jake brake, passions that brought him great joy and many fond memories over the years. Whether he was talking about the machines he admired or reminiscing about the open road, Edward’s eyes would light up with excitement.

A funeral service celebrating Edward’s life will be held on Saturday, May 3, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Christian Church, 14196 Ashland Road, Glen Allen, VA. His dear friend and former coworker, Pastor Mike Graves, will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Edward’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
