Stephen Matthew Comeau, 79, of Ruther Glen, Virginia, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2025, at Select Specialty Hospital in Richmond, Virginia.

Born in Massachusetts on February 5, 1946, Stephen proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He later continued his public service as a dedicated police officer in Washington D.C., a career he held with honor and commitment.

Stephen was a devoted husband to Zenaida Comeau for 28 years. He was a loving father to Peter Comeau, Heather Comeau, Kelly Choi, and a cherished grandfather to Cameron Choi and Kendal Choi. He was preceded in death by his brothers Michael, Larry and Paul.

Stephen was known for his big heart and deep love for animals, especially dogs and cats. He was a skilled fisherman, a lover of the outdoors, and an avid storyteller. His passions included music, law enforcement, golfing, and spending time with his family. Stephen was a proud Navy veteran.

A Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church. Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00am.

Stephen’s life was one of dedication, love, and laughter. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
