Douglas “Doug” Halterman, age 67, of King George, Virginia died on Thursday May 29, 2025 in the presence of his wife and brother.  He was born to Frank and Anne Halterman in Brooklyn, New York on December 13, 1957.  Doug spent his school years in Arlington, Virginia where he graduated from W-L High School in June of 1975.  He was active in sports, scouts and band.  Throughout his school years, Doug was particularly proud of playing in W-L’s marching band and obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout.

After high school Doug graduated from James Madison University in 1980 with a degree in business.  He also played trombone with the JMU marching Dukes.  He went on to pursue a career with Lifetouch Studios for 40 years in photography and photography sales.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lee Lynn (Crowell) Halterman, his son Andrew Halterman and his daughter Taylor Halterman.   He is also survived by his brother Don Halterman and his step-son Bryant Payne and his wife Miranda Payne.  Also surviving are nieces and nephew Daniel Halterman, Annie Nencka, and Gretchen Halterman.  He was preceded in death by his parents Frank and Anne Halterman.

Doug was a true believer of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  He was a faithful servant to his church and community by volunteering to serve on mission trips and various community service projects.

A service will be held at his home church, Shiloh Baptist Church, 13457 Kings Highway, King George, VA 22485 on Tuesday June 10, at 11:00 with visitation at 10:00.  In lieu of flowers donations may be sent to the church and designated to the Awana program.
