Myrtle Alton Cash, 74, of Fredericksburg, went to her eternal home on Monday, June 23, 2025.  She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Clarence A. Cash Jr.  Myrtle had a great love for her family and friends. She was considered family and a second “Mom” by many people during her lifetime, wherever she lived. The only love she had greater than her love for Clarence was her love for her Lord and Savior.

Myrtle is survived by her children Dawn E. Whitmore (Brian) of Fredericksburg and Franklin A. Collins, III of Virginia; her sisters Eva Denise Brown of Jacksonville, FL and Teresa Elliott of Brandy Station, VA; three brothers Joseph Alton of Ash, North Carolina, James Alton of Hurlock, MD and Richard Alton of Tucson, Arizona; her grandchildren Christopher W. Collins, Carlee M. Whitmore, Brandon L. Collins; two great-grandchildren Dixie Mae Collins and Autumn Nichole Collins.   Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 2nd at Storke Funeral Home, Bowling Green.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.  Interment will be private.

Myrtle was preceded in death by her mother, Cecelia Hollingsworth, and her father, Carl Alton Sr., her sisters, Janet Furlong and Dorothy Nash, and her brothers, Carl “Buddy” Alton Jr. and Maurice Alvin Alton.
