Born in West Virginia, Butchie had retired on medical disability from the construction industry. He had worked in the industry for 25 years for Strope Newton Construction and Long Masonry. Butchie was also an avid hunter and loved to fish. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Cathy Hamric; his daughters, Heather Cox (Tim) and Katie Hamric (Mike); two sisters, Ruby Carter and Judy Morris (Olis); two brothers, Buck Hamric and Buster Hamric (Thelma); five grandchildren, Megan, Connor, Aiden, Reighlyn and Nevaeh; three brothers in law, Mike Williams (Jonie), Jim Williams (Rhonda) and Stephen Williams (Sherry); his son in law, Aaron Cox; twelve nieces and nephews; ten great nieces and nephews (with one on the way) and one great-great niece. The family is thankful for the special friends and caregivers that helped Butchie; Erin Marshall, Martha Peterson, Norma Williams, Timothy Fortune, Caroline Fire and Rescue, Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center and Fresenius Care. The family will receive friends at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A funeral in the chapel will follow on Wednesday, May 27th at 3:00pm. All current Covid-19 requirements (50% occupancy and personal protection) will be followed. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation www.kidney.org. Visitation & Funeral Service Information
The family will receive friends at the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home on Tuesday, May 26th from 6:00 – 8:00pm. A funeral in the chapel will follow on Wednesday, May 27th at 3:00pm. All current Covid-19 requirements (50% occupancy and personal protection) will be followed.
