Donna S. Winford, 54, died unexpectedly August 4, 2020, at her residence in Milford, VA. She was born September 14, 1965 at Dumfries Medical Center in Dumfries, VA to Betty Sue Shifflett (Purks) and James David Franklin. Donna was employed at Spotsylvania Town Center for multiple years managing the Maintenance unit for the mall. She loved her job and thoroughly enjoyed building relationships with everyone she came across. She ended her employment with them December of 2018 to care for her dad who became ill. In October of 2019 she began employment with Spotsylvania County Facility Management where she took pride in the upkeep of the County buildings. The last week preceding her death, Donna had received an award for her outstanding dedication through the COVID crisis. Donna was a person who didn’t know a stranger. She would go out of her way to make conversation and bring joy to others. She had a smile that would light up the room and a laugh that was contagious. She was never concerned about herself and always willing to go without to give to someone in need. She was a person who always knew the right things to say. Comforting others and feeling loved was nothing short of having a conversation with her. Family was the very breath she had in her especially her grandkids. Sleep overs at Nana’s were one of a kind, visits could never last long enough, and conversations for hours seemed like minutes. The best quality about her was everything! Donna is preceded in death by her previous husband, Marvin Winford, her brother, Daniel Franklin, father, James David Franklin and grandmother, Avis Franklin. Donna is survived by her husband, Bryan Tilson of Milford, VA; daughter. Shelly TenHoeve and her husband, Todd TenHoeve of Spotsylvania, VA; son, Jason Triplett and his wife, Jessica Triplett of Summerduck, VA; daughter, Ashley Cross and her husband, Lantz Cross of Spotsylvania, VA; step-sons, Tyler Reed and Nick Tilson; brother, James Lee Franklin and his wife, Mary Franklin of Stafford, VA; brother, Michael Purks of Caroline, VA; mother, Betty Purks of Caroline, VA; step-father, Wayne Purks of Caroline, VA; grandchildren include Tyler Triplett, Destiny Triplett, Landon Triplett, Joey Triplett, Tamaira TenHoeve, Natalie Davis, Kaden TenHoeve, Kya TenHoeve, Jaylin Robinson and Jasper Triplett; and also, to include multiple cousins.
