Kimberly Rose Troyer Dowell passed away suddenly on December 29, 2020, from natural causes. Kim was raised in Fairfax, Virginia, and she held a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Bridgewater College, and a Master’s Degree in American History from Madison University. Kim was a very compassionate woman, and she had a deep love for her family, her pets, helping others, and anything related to preserving history. Predeceased by her son, Walter Blake Dowell, and her parents, Walter and Vivian Troyer, Kim retired in Woodford, Virginia, to be near her daughter and grandchildren.

Family and friends would tell you that Kim loved preserving her family history, enjoyed cooking and baking for friends and family, was the first to volunteer to help others and cared for her pets and any stray cat that came to her door. After a successful career in retail management, Kim loved caring for seniors from her church, serving them as if they were family.

Kim is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Klein, her adopted daughter, Niquita Dowell, her sister, Kristie Stafford, and her beloved grandchildren. A survivor of Polycystic Kidney Disease, Kim lived fourteen years as a kidney transplant recipient. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to be made to the ASPCA or the PKD Foundation, the only organization in the United States solely dedicated to finding treatments and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease.

The family wants you to know that they covet your prayers, and that there will be a celebration of life to honor Kim at a later time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.storkefuneralhome.com.
