Alma D. Kish, 86, of Corbin, Virginia, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at her home. A lifelong Caroline county resident, Alma was the youngest daughter of the late David and Mary McWhirt.  She was a 1952 graduate of Caroline High School and as a young adult, she enjoyed the years she spent working for Virginia Electric Cooperative. Alma was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church since her childhood, where she served faithfully as a children’s Sunday School teacher, choir member, and as part of the women’s missions group. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had many cherished friendships. Alma was known for her welcoming smile and loved sending inspirational cards to others as her personal ministry. Alma is survived by her husband of 51 years, Roland Kish; daughters Donna D. Elliott (Warren) and Paula K. Dustin (Bob); grandchildren Anna and Ashton Dustin; and numerous nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Durrett, and by her sisters Viola Thacker and Mabel Thacker. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 5th at 2:00pm in the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Round Oak Baptist Church Cemetery, Corbin. The family will receive friends at the funeral home, one hour prior to the service. All current Covid-19 safety protocols will be adhered to, regarding occupancy, masks and social distancing. The service will be streamed live on the funeral home’s Facebook page, Remarkable Lives and will be broadcast over the radio for those attending, but wishing to remain in their cars at the funeral home. Visitation & Funeral Service Information
