Peggy Yates, 88 of Ladysmith, passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021 in Memorial Regional Medical Center. Peggy enjoyed plants, gardening and antique shopping. She loved her church activities, lunches with her friends and spending time with her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.  She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Marlin; her son, Charles Yates; two grandchildren, Jeremy Marlin and Julie Compher; four great grandchildren Kelsey Marlin, Sydney Marlin, Harlee Compher, and Hunter Compher, and two great-great grandchildren, Caden and Ava Reyes. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Yates. A funeral service will be held on Friday, February 12th at 9:30am in the Bowling Green chapel of Storke Funeral Home, with Rev. Charles Tillapaugh officiating. All current Covid-19 precautions will be followed, including mask, social distancing and 50% occupancy. The service will be streamed live on the funeral home Facebook page, Remarkable Lives as well as broadcast on the radio for those that feel more comfortable remaining in their cars in the parking lot. Burial will take place at 12 noon at Stonewall Memory Gardens in Manassas. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
