Donald Eugene Kubik passed away February 10, 2021 at Mary Washington Hospital.

He was born the son of Arvilla and Jerome Kubik in Crown Point, Indiana on January 1, 1935.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Leilani; one daughter Lorraine Bushberger (David); four sons Michael (Doreen), Tony (Joe), Donald, Jr. and Christopher (Tammy); 10 Grandchildren; and 15 Great-Grandchildren.  He couldn’t say no to any of them, he loved them all so much. One of his grandsons is now a Marine and following in his grandpa’s footsteps. A great-grandson joined the Army.  As a paratrooper, he just loves jumping out of airplanes. Don could not be prouder of both of them.

He was a proud lifetime member of The American Legion, Post 89 in King George, Va. and served as Commander of the Post for a number of years.

Don served 20 years and 6 months in the Marine Corps as an Aircraft & Engine Mechanic and served three tours in Vietnam.  He loved the Marine Corps, he even flies the American, PoW/MIA and Marine Corps flags at the entrance to our home, and every day, enjoyed looking out through the trees and watching them fly in the breeze.

Your memory will live in our hearts forever. You were our big tough Marine and our huggable teddy bear. So farewell to our “world’s toughest teddy bear.”
